Procrastination Tips from the Master....or just a student...

So I hoped that living with my new roommates this semester, who are very good students and very smart, that their good influences would rub off on me. Well it has worked a little bit but it seems that the Master of Procrastination (i.e. myself) has actually been rubbing her bad influence on my roommates...

After much encouragement from one of my roommates, here are 5 methods I have genuinely used to avoid doing work of any kind. There are more where these came from but I figured it best not to pass on my procrastination knowledge, lest the world might actually descend in procrastinated-chaos.

Here they are:

Tumblr search ‘foodporn’

Do not, and I mean DO NOT, separate the word 'foodporn'; you will get various images of inappropriately completely unrelated sex images on your screen. Not exactly what you want to see when searching for yummy food....anyway this should entertain you for a good while. Please note that a side effect of this is craving the food you see. Many a times, have I wished humans had advanced technology to pull food from your screens. That'd be awesome...and bad...I think....

Food shopping/Cooking

You need a buddy for the shopping part (because it is funnier this way) and buy everything you think you can stuff in your mouth that evening. Or just cook up a storm in the kitchen! My roommate had done this a few weeks ago (on top of cleaning the flat) and she made some pretty decent noms! The only two words you need to win this argument of should I or shouldn't I, is: it's food.

Play ‘catch the gummy bears’ game

You need a buddy to play this and a big packet of gummy bears (haribo is best). Just chuck the bear at each other while trying to catch said bear with your mouth. Not only does this reduce you to laughing tears, but gives you a deliciously evil treat with it. My kind roommate and gummy bear game buddy says to you guys that this is a great form of exercise. I don't know about that, but it is hilariously fun!

TV-binge

I do this all the time on Netflix and anime sites. This is incredibly bad but brilliant way of procrastination, especially when you LOVE watching TV like I do. In fact, I have actively encouraged my roommate all day today to procrastinate by watching a few of my favourite anime's..... I don't think she regrets it :)

Sleep

Not a very good method of procrastination since too much sleep is very unhealthy for you as well. But come on! I mean Dreamland is probably the best place in existence to wander aimlessly, avoiding work. No more words needed.

Ironically, I have been procrastinating from packing my suitcase by doing this post today. Yes, my suitcase...cause I'm going abroad for 4 days!! Whoop whoop!! I am off to Barcelona with my classmates for a module and it does seem quite exciting. I will take plenty of pictures and update you guys on my adventures. So in the meantime...
